This makes a great gift/send-off for that beloved member of your school that is retiring. Get your staff and students singing to this catchy tune. Karaoke tracks can be found on youtube. Sung to the tune of "I'm a Believer" by the Monkees or by SmasthMouth (from the movie 'Shrek'). Cute, funny lyrics. Easy to learn! Also available in my store as a pdf and Powerpoint! Enjoy!

Note and Rest Tables

Created by

This is a set of two tables of notes and rests - whole, half, quarter, and eighth - laid out by name, number of beats, and what I have the students say when reading rhythms together. I find this important to get the distinction between the name of the note and the word/syllables used when reading rhythms - it seems to help with long term recall of the note names. I think it also helps provide students with a tool to communicate about the music, whether reading rhythms, reading notes on the sta

Piano Happy Birthday Keys Nice and Big for extreme beginners, like first day. If you like this, there is also a Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star one out there as well. I generally placed the notes roughly on the scale, although some should be quarter notes and some should be eighth notes (tell them later), but I really just wanted to give them the keys, like I said, for extreme beginners. I'm trying to start my 5 yr old grandson, and this sheet seems to work. Maybe it will help you as well.

Vivaldi's violin concerto is a great way to introduce students to guided listening and seasons. I usually have the students listen to the song of the season first, and then I will pass out these papers. I will usually talk to the class about key features of each season, so they have an idea of what to draw and color. It usually takes around 10-15 minutes per season, so I like to do two season per class.
