This is my activity book that I have developed for my grade 1 and 2 ESL Program. The music is better, more modern than what is normally used. The stories are funnier. The games are more suitable for kids at this level. Winter has arrived & it's time for a wonderful Winter lessons! Common Music Terms, Creativity and Seasonal topics are features of this wonderful Winter lesson. Carnival of the Animals Listening Worksheet
A favorite for all general music teachers, Saint-Saen's "Carnival of the Animals" is now Common Core friendly with the listening worksheet. When I teach this unit, I do one worksheet per animal and put together into a little book at the end of the unit.
Students of all learning types find this worksheet useful, as it allows an area to draw the animal you hear, explain WHY you felt it was the animal, asks a few easy questions about tempo and dynamics to get students acclimated with music termino

I use this for all of my classes and rehearsals. Students grab the half sheets when they have a question or statement that does not pertain to the current rehearsal.
This cuts down on time spent answering 'questions' and keeps the flow of each rehearsal productive and fruitful.
I usually print this on light blue paper to add variety to the classroom.
