What Field of Science Am I?

This is an activity with several uses. It contains about 60 names of fields with definitions and pictures (in order as listed). Teachers could use them to teach the different fields in order to show how wide science is. Students could sort them or match the definition with name and picture. I have used them also in my science word wall. What Field of Science Am I? by Maria Elena Morales is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.

Sorting Seasons

This activity has 12 pictures for each four seasons and 4 mats. Students can sort the pictures according to the season. I have not considered only objects but I extended the pictures to landscapes, food, activities, clothes, celebrations, and jobs. It is important to discuss that seasons not only affect our environment but our entire life. Print the pictures and mats on cardstock and laminate them for duration. Science Is...

This is a fun first day of school activity. I hand this out to students and have them draw what science is to them. I often help them get started by saying when I say the word science, what comes to mind. This is what you draw. I have students stand up and share their drawings. Then I introduce students to the curriculum we are going to cover over the course of the year. Once students finish, I place them on a bulletin board titled "Science Is..."
