Reading Display: Spotlight on 'I am Reading...' for Encouraging Reading Habits
These reading spotlights make the perfect classroom display. Print one for each child. They right their name on the line. They then use a sticky note to write the name of the book they are reading. As they read a new book they add another sticky note on top. You will soon see a big challenge to see who can read the most, without you even saying a word. Fill Poe's head with details about his life! A much safer alternative to getting inside the creepy writer's head itself. Students should use available technology or resources to find facts about Poe. This resource makes a great way to start a Short Story Unit on Poe and is a cool thing to display around the room or to make a quick bulletin board with.
