Alaskan Earthquake Epicenter Location Activity (November 30, 2018)
In this activity students will analyze seismograms from three seismic stations in Alaska. They will use the difference in arrivals times of the primary and secondary waves with a travel time curve to determine the distance from the epicenter to the seismic stations. Crayon Activity: Rock Cycle Simulation Investigation
It's a difficult concept for students to imagine that over millions of years one kind of rock will change into another kind of rock. This investigation allows students to see the changes taking place, and learn important qualities of each type of rock and how they are formed.
