Current Event Assignment and Rubric
An effective way to get students involved with what is going on in the world. The Current Event form that students will fill out includes not only a summary, but also vocabulary. The Current Event rubric is easy for teachers to score with and students to understand. I do this every Friday with my students. They expect to share them with the class. It is an effective reading and writing tool as well. Both of these forms can be modified for any grade level.

A cultural museum - Vikings
This is an easy to use project about the Vikings. Students will create a museum exhibit with their product on it. Simply follow the directions ( or add some of your own) to compile information worthy of tat display. This is a great project to have on hand at open houses or parent conferences. Very few supplies are needed to do a great job. The questions are challenging and artifacts will be interesting. Students could ask the art teacher for help.

This is a fun research activity for your students. They can use the internet, dictionary, people, etc. to find out what these acronyms stand for. Some have multiple meanings.
