Analogies Mini Lesson
This is a great tool to use to teach the patterns students must know and think about as they are solving various analogies. I use this piece as a mini-lesson and to model various analogy patterns. Then the students work in small groups, then independently and some kids can even start creating their own following the patterns you introduced. Analogies can be created for any unit and can connect with most contenet areas.

This lecture leads students through the basics of naming scientific fields through an understanding of prefixes and roots words. Student will practice their skills by interpreting the names of various scientists, and will end the lesson with more practice interpreting vocabulary based on prefixes, suffixes and root words.
