They are provided with minimal materials, the rest is gathered from home (recyclable materials, toys, etc..). A PowerPoint presenation accompanies the Rube Goldberg machine. My students LOVED doing this and they learned a lot about simple machines as well.

Collisions and Newton’s Third Law of Motion are explored during this 4 Section lab activity dealing with elastic and inelastic collisions. Students start with an introduction passage and then they use balls of varying masses to roll down ramps towards a collision.
