This PowerPoint presentation uses animations to demontrate 3 types of tranformations: translations, rotations, and reflections. Students can actively create their own transformational shape that can then be translated, rotated, or reflected to build a tessellation. Turn Geometry into a fun art project where students can add color to their tessellation to create an image out of te transformed shape. City Design Project, Angle Pairs

This city design project is a way to assess student’s understanding of angle pairs formed by intersecting lines and transversals through parallel lines. Students can showcase creativity while placing buildings in the designated locations. There are enough streets (lines) that students city designs will vary and you will be able to identify any copying/cheating.Directions and rubric are included. No prep. Just assign the google slides. Slides can be edited to meet the needs of your students. This

Mosaic Drawings - Math Arts Integration Lesson

PROJECT LENGTH: 5 days (with hour-long class periods) DESCRIPTION: This is a fantastic arts integration lesson! I recently shared this with our 10th grade geometry teacher and he and his students loved it! Students learn about the 3 main types of symmetry: Reflection Symmetry, Radial Symmetry and Translation Symmetry. Students also learn about the history of the mosaic art form and discuss the use of pattern and symmetry in artworks. Review of organic and geometric shapes is included. Students

This geometry fractal presentation is designed to show students how to construct a regular pentagonal fractal. The initial construction process shows how to work from "larger" to "smaller" to demonstrate the fractal self-similarity process, whereas the end of the presentation shows how to work from "smaller" to "larger" to demonstrate the same self-similarity process. This presentation also shows how to construct a 3-D pentagonal fractal (dodecahedron), which makes for a great project!
