Which bubble gum has more sugar? Density Experiment Scientific Method
The purpose of this experiment is to determine which bubble gum brand has the most sugar/flavorings. You will find the density of each gum before chewing and again after chewing to determine and compare which bubble gum lost the most density (lost most of its sugar/flavorings).
Students practice metrics measurement finding mass, volume and density AND get to chew gum!

This is a short and fun lab for kids to determine how far they would be able to jump on other planets due to gravity. It includes a hypothesis as well as conclusion questions for kids to complete. If you wanted to stretch it out a bit, you could have kids do 3 trials and find their average before calculating their new jump distance. STEM Money Tower Challenge
This is a STEM activity that combines Engineering with Math. In teams, students have to build a tower or money bills. The tower must not exceed a certain dollar amount, but it needs to be the tallest. They then use coins for weight, which again cannot exceed a certain dollar amount. A great way to learn the timestables after a hands-eyes coordination activity that entails cutting, gluing and assemblying the resource.Each student should have their timetable wheel for manipulating the resource whilst learning and practising the timetable. Finding Mean in a Concrete Manner Using Graduated Cylinders
Finding MEAN in a concrete manner! This was a real "aha" moment for my students in actually understanding the concept of mean. Students are asked to fill graduated cylinders (or beakers) with water to the following amounts (in mL): 70, 30, 90, 20, 50. Then they fill in the corresponding amount with colored pencil on the worksheet. Students are asked to distribute the water in the cylinders so that each of the containers has the same amount of liquid and record the amount in each cylinder.
