This is an experiment for students dealing with friction, force, and motion. It will take students through each step of the scientific method. The students will be using a binder and matchbox car to discover how friction effects how far a car will go. They will make a car go down a binder, measure, and record how far it went. Changes in Matter: Changing Water
Use with a unit on States of Matter: Discusses 4 changes in water: Melting, freezing, condensation, and evaporation- What happens when object is affected by temp. changes?
After lesson, have students demonstrate the process of melting. Give each student an ice cube and see who can melt it the fastest. Leave a cup of water by the window and check level each day to demonstrate evaporation, etc.
