Dystopian Small Group Project - RL.1 RL.2 RL.5 RI.1 RI.2

This is a small group project I do after reading and learning with "The Pedestrian" by Ray Bradbury. These projects are always very successful and create beautiful, rigorous presentations via canvas or google slides. You can also adapt it for other texts or units. This particular document doubles as directions for students and a grading rubric for yourself. Students usually take about 3-4 days to complete their presentations so very little prep for a large amount of class instruction.

A Look Into the Nightmare Small Group Project

This is a thematic small group presentation project. The rubric outlines what to do for every slide for the students. I have had students read all the texts and then complete the project; or, I have also assigned a text and its corresponding slide to individual students. This product is great for a multi-standard, multi-day project. I usually complete this during October as the texts are focused on fear; however, it can be completed any time of the year.

DEAR Reading Program Challenge And Projects

This year, I implemented a new challenge for my kids: read 1,000 pages by the end of the semester, and you will be recognized with a certificate and your pho
