Students must create and graph ten different functions with transformations based on the following parent functions - linear, quadratic, absolute value. Restrictions on transformations are required. This is a rubric for a student group project. Students are asked to make a poster about vectors. Students must write their own story using vectors, magnitude and direction, graph the result, draw a picture related to the story, and solve the other groups' problems. Students will present their problems and solutions to the class.

Algebra 2 / Pre - Calculus Spaghetti Noodle Sine Curves
Students will use what they’ve learned about sinusoidal functions to create a sine curve out of uncooked spaghetti noodles and string. Roller Coaster Design - Transformations of Functions
I created this project for my IB Approaches and Analysis Course. This is also useful for Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus courses. All three courses heavily use transformations of functions and can apply the parent functions to this course. This 13 page document with calendar and table of contents took me at least 12 days to complete from beginning to end, but it was worth it for the students to engage in meaningful conversations.
