Desmos Tangram Project

This project asks students to recreate the tangram (the ancient Chinese puzzle made up of 7 shapes which all fit into a square) using linear functions and Desmos. No Demos experience (teacher or student) required! This project would be a great first day of calculus project, or could be used in any Algebra based course to teach or refresh a student’s linear function knowledge.

This purchase includes 3 sections – the student assignment meant to be given directly to your students, a project rubric outlining each component of the project to be graded with open point allotments to customize to your grading needs, and teacher notes and resources. The teacher resource section includes tips about the project, grading pointers, and sample student projects that have been turned in to me in the past OR a sample project I have made.

Each of these projects I have used in my own AP Calculus AB, BC or Calculus 1 classrooms over the last 8 years and I hope you LOVE them as much as I do!
