Geocaching Project
Students learn about the global treasure hunt called Geocaching in the intro PowerPoint. The project has them build and hide caches on campus, and log their coordinates using several GPS devices that I have gathered through the years (I started with only 1 the first year).

-A hands on, real life application of the Surface Area and Volume of a Cylinder. Students will design a prototype for a new company's pop can.This will include designing a bright, colourful and engaging label. However, in order to design a label your students will need to know the SURFACE AREA and VOLUME of their cylinder/prototype. This project connects math concepts to real life scenarios, as well as this math project can also be linked to media.

Pallet Project Guidelines
This is the planning guide and rubric that I give students for our first woods project that the students get to choose. This has been very successful and students have enjoyed getting to make what they want. When they are planning I would highly suggest they do not make a huge project since it is pallet wood for this project! Students use their knowledge of area and apply this knowledge and create their own dream bedroom.
Allow your students the chance to apply their knowledge and creativity with this lesson. This could also be used for a media/ visual arts mark as students describe and explain their ultimate bedroom.
