This is my tried and true rubric I've used in my art one classes for quite some time now. You can use this for ANY project. It is also student friendly, as I've had my students use it to grade themselves before turning work in also. I always have students complete written self-reflections as part of their final assessments, hence my note at the bottom of the rubric, which you can certainly change if it doesn't fit your students. I hope it is just as helpful for you!

SHREK THE MUSICAL - DRAMA RESPONSE

A responding assessment for Shrek the musical, on one of the only musicals you can get a recording that is 'movie style but also theatre style', it engages the modern teen and is great to use in class. I have used this as an assessment and I have also adapted it to use just as a learning activity and it has worked amazingly in both careers. Each question makes it clear which of the dramatic elements it is exploring and there is a fun extension activity (word search) for early finishers. A rubric

Over the years, my sketchbook rubrics have evolved where I now define the criteria for each set of points. This is a 10-point value rubric that is divided by 2 points each. This is a PDF file with two pages. The first page contains the rubric with criteria, and the second page contains a list that explains what the teacher is looking for when grading sketchbook assignments. I have used this in my 3-D art class for their weekly sketchbook assignments. When I use this with students, I require them

This is one of my bigger projects for my interior design class. Students take what they have learned from elements and principles of design and backgrounds of design and put it all into a shoebox room. They can choose any type of room and have to create a realistic design and then give me all of their explanation for their choices in a typed paper.
