Rubric is editable but intended for use grading writing in Kindergarten. The first page is detailed and can be displayed on the bulletin board while the second and third slide are identical to each other and simplified to be stapled to each child's work (print slide 2-3 on the same piece of paper which will shrink them, making them less cumbersome when attaching to each child's work).

I use this for a handwriting center. I print handwriting pages and have students use this to self-assess, which is what common core is focusing on. It included a student checklist that they have to use before they have their work checked. Then, I use the rubric to grade. Can also be used for Special Education students as a tool to help with this goal.

It is in word format so that you can customize it to you specific needs. It can be slightly modified for other types of writing. I also included two pictures of charts I use in my classroom. Alphabet Recall

This is a simple, grid-form worksheet for accessing a student's ability to recall letters from dictation. I use this to acquire baseline data for kindergarten and first grade students. Because it is fairly basic in design, you can use it for uppercase or lowercase individually. You can also ask the students to recall both and they will generally fit within the box.
