Common Core Project Based Learning: Perimeter Project in the Zoo
A week long project where students work in groups to create their own Zoo. Your Zoologists will have specific specifications for the perimeter of each animal enclosure. Students will have a planning sheet and rubric for their poster so they know what is expected. Geometry Unit
This unit contains 9 lessons on Geometry. It will help students distinguish the difference between perimeter and area, two and three dimensional shapes, right, obtuse, and acute angles, congruency and symmetry, and lines, line segments and rays. This unit incorporates ELA, science and technology. It requires the use of the book, The Greedy Triangle, which will be used as a read aloud.
