This a writing conference sheet that can be used for an individual student or as a class. It has a spot for grows and glows. In the grow section I added a check list of things to work on. there is also a space to write a different comment. This can be used in conjuction with my Writing Rubric Grader in my store. Teacher Retirement Questionnaire
As an element of the surprise retirement party, this questionnaire was used for the students to fill out. The information can be read aloud at the party or trimmed and made into a book or scrapbook.

PowerPoint for Writing Choose and Do Substitute Plan
This is a PowerPoint I designed for students to "Choose and Do" writing activities. I have left this for emergency sub plans and it has worked really well.
The idea is that students watch the PowerPoint and "Choose" three of the writing tasks (12 to choose from!) and complete them by the end of class. There are a variety of topics ranging from persuasive topics to reflecting on quotes.

Wax Museum History Monologue Rubric
Students study a famous person in history to create a wax museum character. They dress up and invite their family to a performance at school. Students write a 1 page monologue describing their plight in history. This is a rubric to assess their reading fluency, expression, historical accuracy of facts, and overall quality of presentation. This rubric can be used as an assessment or a guide for students to prepare their piece.
