Use this wonderful rhythm builder to create rhythms with pupils in 3/4 or 4/4 time. Drag and drop the note or rest into the grid to create a rhythm pattern. Russian Dance from The Nutcracker
This is a smart board file with two different listening maps to accompany the Russian Dance from The Nutcracker. These maps and activities are geared towards younger students, typically Kindergarten through grade 3. These maps use fun body percussion movement as well as non-pitched percussion accompaniment depending on age level. My students love these activities!

Orff Schulwerk SMART Board lesson - The Months (Orff)
This is a song I wrote and a SMART board file I put together to teach the days of each month, but I later expanded it for use in an Orff Schulwerk classroom. The song itself is nice alone, kind of bluesey, and the instrumentation is fun. The body percussion is similar to the kind of thing you would find in “Music For Children” level I.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight
This is an orchestration for use with grades 3-5 or special needs students. Simplified notation is used to allow access for all learners to playing in an ensemble. There are parts for boomwhackers, keyboards, xylophones, recorders, shakers, drums, and hand or desk bells. This file is for Notebook software to be presented on the Smart Board or printed individually for students. It is fully modifiable.

Orff Schulwerk lesson, Kindergarten - Scarecrow
This is an original arrangement of a song about a Scarecrow. I have used it with Kindergarten through 2nd grade students, and it always goes pretty well. One fun thing to do is turn on a black light or a strobe, and have one or two kids fly around the room as we sing the song.
