TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 20+ years of experience teaching early childhood music, elementary general music, piano, voice, music theory, and accordion.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am primarily a Music Learning Theory (MLT) educator, but I am eclectic in my approaches to music education.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I received an Excellence in Teaching award from my school in 2012. I was awarded a semester-long sabbatical in 2016. I am a music clinician and enjoy meeting fellow teachers at music conferences around the country!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have earned B.M. and M.M. degrees in Piano Pedagogy from Michigan State University. I've also had the opportunity to take these professional development courses: Level 1 - Early Childhood Music (MLT) Level 1 - Elementary General Music (MLT) Introduction to Orff-Schulwerk

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live in the Detroit area with my husband and three children (aka, our Sicilian Shamrocks). When we are not at school or working, we love to go to the symphony, see a show, catch a game, or travel.
