I have been teaching middle school and high school choir for nine years now. I taught just 6-8 grade for six years in Atlanta. I now teach 7-12 grade in Nashville and have been here for three years. I have also taught general music and drama along the way. I absolutely love my job, and I hope my resources can help other secondary chorus teachers out there!
I always want to be sure we are having fun in my classroom! We play a lot of games in my room, and we sing a lot of different music. I hope my students walk out of my class knowing they are amazing humans, knowing they are capable of great things, and knowing the value of being on a team. I hold my students to a very high standard and always make sure we have fun along the way of achieving our goals. I love teaching choir, and if you do too, you're in the right place! Let's be friends!
-My choirs have consistently received excellent and superior ratings at our state NAFME adjudication events (CPA, LGPE, etc.) -I have served on the leadership team at my school and received the "rookie of the year" award at my first school... awarded to a teacher in year 1-3 of teaching alongside the teacher of the year award. -I have also planned district honor choir events along with choir adjudication events.
I have a bachelors in music education from The University of South Carolina! Go Gamecocks!
