Introduction to black history month
This flipchart is one I use to introduce the concept/idea of black history month to my students. It begins with a song about Martin Luther King, then has picture examples of the words past and present to help my kids understand what we mean when we say the "past". Then there are pages of examples of black athletes, musicians, actors, etc. At the end there is a video "black history alphabet" I hope this simplified way of introducing black history helps your class as much as it helped mine.

The Case of the Missing Pumpkin - Positional Words on the Activboard
This is a great intro/mini lesson for positional words. It's engaging and the kids love it. There are 9 different clues where the kids highlight the positional word and then move the magnifying glass (with magic reveal) to see if they can find where the pumpkin is hiding.
The positional clues are:

-next to
-above
-near
-beneath
-in between
-inside
-to the left of
-to the right of
We follow this up with a class book. Each child makes a page with a die cut pumpkin. They draw a picture

This Christmas themed flipchart activity was designed to give a visual aid for a money activity.
This flipchart is 3 pages. The second page gives the rules for the activity. The third page allows you to print off check templates for your students. The third page also allows you to model how to write a check.
This is a great activity for hitting a money standard and place value standard! Two birds with one stone.

Batty Facts & Opinions Flipchart
This Halloween themed flipchart reviews facts and opinions. The learning goal is stated at the beginning of the lesson.
