Preview of Arithmetic Sequence Investigation

Arithmetic Sequence Investigation

This arithmetic sequence investigation will support students thinking through the definition of arithmetic sequence, finding equations for arithmetic sequences, finding missing terms, and making the connection to linear functions. Students can work in groups through the investigation until they reach a checkpoint (for class discussion) to think critically and have mathematical discussion about arithmetic sequences. It's amazing how much students can learn through investigation with each other! T

This PowerPoint presentation investigates the fundamental trigonometric angle measurement known as a radian. You will learn what a radian is, how it is derived, and the relationship between radians and degrees. After learning the definition of an angle you will then review some basic geometric concepts. Using the definition of an angle and the geometric concepts a radian is defined and an animation shows how a radian is derived in a circle. The relationship between degree and radian measurem

I am posting this resource to my TPT store.  For FREE!  I am posting this March 2020.  I want to do my little bit to help since some schools are closing because of COVID-19 (or coronavirus).  Now, I wouldn’t normally post this to my TPT because I feel that the quality isn’t the best but it may help out some teachers and students for distance learning.  If you are in need of these resources feel free to download.  If you review, please don’t be too harsh.  It was somewhat difficult for me to make

This "walk-in-lesson-plan" contains 46 problems of varying difficulty reviewing all 4 operations with polynomials, order of opertions and exponent rules. Notes to the teacher are in red, as are answers to all problems. This lesson (can easily be two or three days) is fun because the students enjoy it. I put the problems up a few at a time, and students solve them. What happens is it becomes challenging and they try to finish first. They start out easy, but then get harder to solve. Remember

Here's a simple, two-page explanation and chart I created to help students understand Distance-Rate-Time problems. These are for your classic, "two trains leave Chicago,"type questions covering: -two vehicles traveling towards each other, when do the meet? -two vehicles traveling in the same direction, when does one overtake the other? Students use this, along with their notes, to deconstruct the problems. Have fun! Hey you! Yes You! Need a better way to introduce equations? Here's a whole

Transformations of Functions Vertical and Horizontal Stretch and Compression

Vertical and horizontal stretches and shrinks (compressions) of functions are often difficult for students to grasp. This illustration shows shows two ways to think about them. One is the effect and location of the constant in the function. The second is its distance to or away from the x- or y-axis.
