TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught High School Mathematics for over 15 years and in those years have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. I enjoy discovering and creating new ways to help students find success in the math classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy creating PowerPoints. I have created many PowerPoints for various lessons, units, and concepts. PowerPoint has allowed me to bring a depth to lessons that a static chalkboard, whiteboard, or overhead projector could never do. Having lessons created with PowerPoint has allowed students to go back over the notes as many times as necessary until they understand the concept.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I received a Teacher Creativity Fellowship grant over 10 years ago. This grant provided funds for me to travel to Egypt to study the pyramids and then to create a unit for my Geometry class about the pyramids of Egypt.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Math Education. I also have a Master's degree in Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married and my wife and I are the proud "parents" of six hens in our backyard. They are the best pets because they provide breakfast for us every morning.
