In this project students learn about area and perimeter. They then use a created problem to find the area and perimeter of a specified racetrack and then recreate the racetrack on the floor using tape. Students also learn about or review magnetism during this lesson. Students then use a stopwatch to "race" their cars through their course. Each car has a magnet on top and is being either pushed or pulled by a magnet the student is using in their hand.
