Sight words can be difficult for children to memorize, especially if they do not make sense phonetically. To give my kiddos an edge I provide different activities to help them learn. Reading the accompanying "Think Piece" promotes debate, provides writing prompts, and allows for critical thinking opportunities. Design A Vocabulary Word Search
This activity allows for students to create and it is a great way to give choice at the same time practicing Bloom's taxonomy higher order critical thinking skills. Skill: Design a Word Search to review vocabulary with a partner. Students decide how to arrange the words on the grid page before giving the word search to a peer to solve.

This is meant to be a dictation test that can be rewritten with words in different orders for retakes. The idea is for students to get the words written down quickly after you've said them each 2-3 times so you can do other things while they take the time to match them.
