Steinbeck Of Mice and Men Chapters 5-6 Dictation Matching Vocab Test (20 Words)

This is meant to be a dictation test that can be rewritten with words in different orders for retakes. The idea is for students to get the words written down quickly after you've said them each 2-3 times so you can do other things while they take the time to match them. To grade, I suggest going through the spellings first, weighting them less than the correct definitions. I usually do 1 point/spelling and 2 points/definition for a total of 60 pts. Then you can fold your paper and set your column of correct numbers next to theirs for a pretty quick grade. Add up the slashes, multiply by whatever, and subtract that from whatever. I usually have "60 Pts" typed at the top of these so then I just write their raw score at the top, but I wanted to keep the point value open for you.

Elsewhere in my store is a comprehensive list of 60 words (20 from chapters 1-2, 20 from chapters 3-4, and 20 from chapters 5-6) designed to be printed and cut in half to save paper.
