This is a simple emergent reader for our community helper unit that will soon be available. It is designed so that you only need to run half as many copies. It can be run off and double stapled then cut in half making two books at a time. We tried to make the illustrations in black and white so students can color the pictures themselves. We will fix this when our unit is ready. For now you can take the color out before printing. The sentences and pictures can be rewritten onto sentence strips

This is an emergent reader for our community helpers unit that will be available soon. It is designed so that it can be printed, double stapled and cut to make two books at a time. All pictures are in black and white so children can color the books themselves. In our classroom we rewrite the sentences on sentence strips and place with pictures in a pocket chart. After shared reading practice daily, we have the students read the books chorally and independently on Friday. Then the children color
