The H Brothers Posters & Story

Created by

Help teach children about the common digraphs sh, ch, wh, th by using characters known as the "H Brothers". I couldn't find a good set, so I drew my own and adapted a story to go along with it. It's a little different than the usual, but the children love it! The document includes images of my original posters that can be made smaller or larger depending upon your need. I set MS Word for legal sized paper. Enjoy!

Use this fable lesson and writing form to inspire students to write their own fables. It's a great beginning of the school year writing assigment because fables are short stories. This lesson gives a definition of fables, examples of fables, as well as a writing template. A great way to introduce this lesson would be with a video, tape, of DVD of a fable or by reading several to the class. Julia Cook is a wonderful author! She wrote a book called A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue. I made an anchor chart and sketched out parts of the book with my students.
