The simulation is loosely based on Hernán Cortes's crew's retelling of their experiences with the Aztecs. While the narrative told in the activity is complete fiction, the simulation provides students a look into life as an Explorer discovering the natives of a new land, and is meant to act as an active, immersive read-aloud for students.
