Photosynthesis Readers Theater
This readers theater, based on the book by Liam O'Donnell, explains the process of photosynthesis in plants. I have used it as a whole class language arts/science activity by numbering each line. My students all have numbers so it is easy for them to see what part they have to say. Each line is short as to keep the reading moving. Ant Chant for insect unit
This is a short army type chant. It can be used to help kids remember important facts about ants. Very cute for a short little production for a talent show or awards assembly. It was written with The Ants Go Marching tune in mind, but is to be done as a cool chant. I have done this with 1st-3rd grade. This is a short skit that helps students make the Nervous System more concrete. There are four groups of characters, Brain Cells, Spinal Cord Nerves, Peripheral Nerves, and Stimuli. The stimuli is a hot stove and when the peripheral nerve touches the stove it sends a message to the Brain. The brain interprets the message then sends a message back to the hand.
