A lovely introductory lesson that I have used with grades 6-8 in 90 minute blocks. This lesson can easily be broken into two 45 minute blocks or three 30 minute ones. Slide 4 with parts of the compass is very detailed and as an introductory lesson I only went over the direction of travel arrow, index line, orienting arrow, and magnetic needle. These could also be great for a substitute teacher plan or binder.
