The House on Mango Street - "My Name" pre-activity
This assignment can be done as a bell ringer or independent in-class assignment to segue into the students writing their own "My Name" vignette. The audio reading of the first few vignettes is linked from Youtube, but you can edit that to fit your classroom structure. It's a fun assignment because the students are asked to research the meaning of their names, who named them or who they are named after, and more.I hope you find this a winner!
