TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught grade levels 7 - 12 throughout my 28 years, including AP Language and Composition. I retired two years ago and decided to share my resources to help others. My years teaching AP taught me how to create questions and activities to help kids identify the strategies an author uses to be able to identify the purpose. I have used these strategies with AP, regular, and retester students. My recent experience as an Educational Consultant has helped me realize how I can best support teachers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My favorite mantra is rigor, relevance, and relationship. I believe in giving higher level questions to kids of all levels. You can push them and guide them at the same time.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have extensive experience with identifying the author's craft/purpose. Most of my materials require higher-level thinking. They are challenging but not too difficult for all levels of kids.
