One of the teachers at my school was having trouble finding some 3D geometric shapes to make her test with, so I made a few for her. Then one thing led to another, and now I have a whole bunch of clip art that I thought a Math teacher might find useful. I have used these images to create tests, task cards, scavenger hunts, and practice work for Math small group and centers. This file is not meant to be used as a presentation. The idea is that you can copy/paste whatever you need from here a

Triangle Theorems Interactive Lesson

This is a 17 slide powerpoint that reviews the angles theorem and triangle inequality theorem (sides). There are triangles with missing angles that students must solve equations to find the missing angles. There is a discovery section that allows students to discover the triangle inequality theorem using Exploragons. You could also use straws. After the discovery, there are practice and application problems. This is great for cooperative learning.

Students receive a card with a either a coordinate point or linear equation on it. Then, music is played and students walk around the room as they would in musical chairs, but when the music stops, they have to pair up with another person (a coordinate point person pairs with a linear equation person and vice versa). Once paired, the teacher calls out "PARALLEL" or "PERPENDICULAR." The students then use the given point and line to write an equation that is either parallel or perpendicular to the

This PowerPoint presentation is a great resource for teachers to introduce active learning when teaching about 3-D shapes. It contains a variety of language riddles to encourage children to distinguish between different 3-D shapes. It encourages your pupils to use what they've learned about 3-D shapes and apply it by constructing a building using the shapes they have explored. It concludes with a 'Guess the Net' game to reinforce what the children have learned about the 3-D shapes and the 2-D s

This task allows students to combine creativity with Math. They must design a 3D building and build it with found materials (i.e. paper, tape, glue etc.). They must then calculate the surface area and volume of the building. This can be used as a STEM activity or as an assessment for Surface Area and Volume in Grades 6-8. You can modify it as you need to

The children will have to sort their 3-D shapes to adhere to the gatekeepers orders so they know which shapes are allowed inside. This game helps children to notice the similarities and differences between 3-D shapes while also reinforcing the mathematical terminology of faces, edges and vertices. Apart from this, this resource also consists of a robot co

Students each brought in a box of their choice, rectangular prism or cube. Then I placed a sticker on one side. The students then had to draw the face of the box where I placed the sticker and label it with both length and width. The students then calculated the face's perimeter and area and then the volume of the full box. Students really enjoyed this assignment.
