Addition and Subtraction Strategy Cards for Small Group Guided Math
I kept having teachers ask for a progression of how students learn and practice addition and subtraction that they could use in guided math similar to the strategy cards they use in guided reading like "say it slowly," "look for chunks," etc. These cards are the beginning of that effort. Mathematical storyline - A Society in the Making
This is a mathematical storyline, in which the children find themselves on an island, which they need to explore. The material consists of 5 themes, about 15 lessons. I use it as a supplement to my other teachings in math. So once a week, we “play” the Island. After completing the 5 themes, you’ll have established the basics for ”the game” to continue. The children will be able to do exercises, grow goods and trade as long as you want.
You can also choose to buy extra themes for the storyline.

Aligning Instructional Materials to Common Core and Preschool Standards
