This is a great back-to-school and place value project for middle schoolers!
What is a middle school student's favorite subject? Themselves!
This project gives them step-by-step instructions on answering questions about themselves, and using various math operations to turn this information into a fun project. Other that the instructions, it also includes a small sample project, a pacing calendar, and a grading rubric.

This 6 page project is way for students to practice rounding, ordering, adding, and subtracting decimals and larger whole numbers. This project also deals with managing money and writing checks. 3.NBT.A1-3 Student Reflection Sheets
These reflection sheets are used before and after a lesson is taught. They allow students to write what they know about the topic before it is taught and write what they have learned after the lesson. There is a learning scale at the bottom for students to circle so you can easily see where each of your students is at after the lesson.
These reflection sheets could be handed out daily, or before and after the whole section is covered in class.
