緣起有許多的孩子在描述事情的時候常常分不清楚順序，父母也很少協助孩子完整有順序的描述一件事情的步驟與前後關係，這個教案搜集了一些小孩描述事情的過程，讓父母理解怎麼協助孩子完整描述事情的步驟與前後關係，藉由閱讀這些描述，讓父母引導孩子描述。
孩子會先由口語描述的完整，再進入閱讀描述的完整性，在閱讀的過程中，孩子去理解中文中的起承轉合與順序步驟，有助於孩子未來在閱讀社會科文章的時候於時序步驟的理解，也有助於自然科對實驗步驟或發展步驟的理解，並且在閱讀思考文章的內容關係。
這個教案都依照孩子的生活描述出發，有些是孩子的日常日記，有利於孩子未來書寫自己的心理語言與想法。
使用方式＊本教材沒有標準答案＊學齡前的孩子可以由父母看內容，協助孩子利用首先、然後、接下來等句子去將相同經驗描述清楚。＊可以練習識字的小孩可以自行閱讀題目，再用畫圖的方式將每個步驟畫下來，大一點的孩子在文章上標示1.2.3.4等順序，可以讓孩子練習未來筆記的判別方式。
＊課堂使用的時候，可以一天一題當學習作業。
＊平日任何的話題與疑問也可以用這樣的方式描述。

社會科所使用的文字與用語在孩子的生活中很難能夠遇到，他們的生活用語很少使用社會科的語言，因此，在閱讀社會科的時候，除了課文所傳達的知識必須要理解，對於社會科所使用的語法與文字更有理解的困難。本教材將五年級的社會科列舉一些題目，讓孩子畫出段落文章想要傳達的意思，傳達給孩子有些社會科的文字是在描述一個地理的位置或一個樣貌，讓孩子未來看文字知道可以輔佐圖形理解，或者在看文字的時候腦中有地圖，而不是死背文章。有些社會科的文章會將可以條列式的條件，寫成一整個段落，孩子其實很難理解一整串的段落可以變成條列式來理解，因此本教材還將一些可以條列式的段落列出，希望由孩子改寫或者是剪貼成條列式的問答題，未來在劃重點的時候就能自己劃出條列式文意。
有些文章都會問孩子『這段文章的主旨』是讓孩子練習抓一篇文章的主旨與重點，而不是全文背誦。字型與字的大小會不規則的使用，是有鑒於有些孩子認字是當圖片記憶，換一種字型或大小就會無法理解，因此變化字型與字體讓孩子習慣文字呈現的樣子不同也是在表達同一個字，編輯編排也不會有規則，甚至會有些小錯誤讓孩子自己去發現，而不是完全相信教材就該全對。
