This is a set of two tables of notes and rests - whole, half, quarter, and eighth - laid out by name, number of beats, and what I have the students say when reading rhythms together. I find this important to get the distinction between the name of the note and the word/syllables used when reading rhythms - it seems to help with long term recall of the note names. I use this note in my music class along with a whole class behavior chart. For individuals who choose not to make good choices, I help them fill this out. For younger ones, I have them draw a picture of what they SHOULD be doing on the back. I give this to their teacher at the end of music to stay in contact with them.
