Finch Robot: Perimeter and Area Investigation
1. Students find a rectangle that meets both requirements (ex: perimeter of 10-18 cm AND an area of 12-16 cm sq.). 2. Once found, students program the Finch robot to draw the exact rectangle on paper.There are 5 rectangles to investigate/solve. Every rectangle has at least 2 possible answers. This PBL project allows students to utilize technology via the ipad to create a house with specific requirements and then solve for area and perimeter.
This is a great third grade project, but can definitely be modified for 2nd or 4th grade.
All projects that I have available are modifiable for RTI and differentiation as needed easily.
iPads are the technology used in this project.
