Description

This PBL project allows students to utilize technology via the ipad to create a house with specific requirements and then solve for area and perimeter.

This is a great third grade project, but can definitely be modified for 2nd or 4th grade.

All projects that I have available are modifiable for RTI and differentiation as needed easily.

iPads are the technology used in this project.

Both teacher packet and ready to use student packet included in purchase.

Enjoy!

I teach these projects in 45 minute increments as a specials class.

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Recognize area as an attribute of plane figures and understand concepts of area measurement.
A square with side length 1 unit, called “a unit square,” is said to have “one square unit” of area, and can be used to measure area.
Measure areas by counting unit squares (square cm, square m, square in, square ft, and improvised units).
Relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.
Solve real world and mathematical problems involving perimeters of polygons, including finding the perimeter given the side lengths, finding an unknown side length, and exhibiting rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with the same area and different perimeters.
