WORD CHOICE: Are You Showing Not Telling
Are you frustrated with your student's lack of descriptive writing. This activity is a great introduction to the concept of showing not telling in writing. On each of the twelve pages, students have an opportunity to sketch a picture related to an emotion. End of School Year Memory Book
This is an end of the school year memory book designed for elementary age children. The book has 14 pages for students to complete. There are places for students to write about their teachers, friends, favorite things, favorite (and not so favorite) memories, and 2 pages for autographs. I have my students cut the pages out and then we glue them on black construction paper, punch holes in the sides, and tie the pages together with ribbon.
