Description

This resource offers a fun, engaging way for students to explore a variety of writing genres throughout the school year! Students will have an opportunity to write a narrative, descriptive, and opinion piece every week, as well as two creative writing activities. This product could be utilized during a morning warm-up time, a center station, or small group instruction. I have also included pages that could be used to post the quotes of the week, as well as full-size color pictures that the students will be describing in their writing. The product is in Microsoft Publisher, allowing you to change headings and the order of items. This is 20 weeks of writing resources for $0.35 a week!

Over the past several years I have been tinkering with my morning writing and warm-up activities. This resource is what I have developed to offer my students, and others, a structured, systematic approach to daily work. My goal was to create something that was not only beneficial to teachers, but was also not just busy work for students. I believe I have accomplished both of these goals with this resource! I have been using this in conjunction with Lucy Calkins materials, and the results have been fantastic! My 3rd grade students are writing far beyond what they typically do for this time of the year.

I am sure this resource will be a positive learning tool for your classroom this year!
