How to recognize emotions in others social narrative story & activities
This social narrative supports students to identify emotions in others by learning to recognise facial expressions, body language and verbal cues. The second part of this resource helps students practice linking facial expressions and body language to emotions, through a fun exercise. In this section, students can complete ‘missions’ by identifying non-verbal cues in the pictures and then selecting the correct emotion (digital and print versions provided). Using a hula hoop as a guide, this story helps children build an internal understanding of what personal space should look and feel like. Print and use ready to go!
