Ape or Pig Blood for Human Transfusion? Reading and Questions
This awesome article from Genetic Literacy Project poses the idea of getting blood transfusions from apes or pigs. A great follow up activity after a mini unit on blood typing or ABO Blood Genetics/Punnett Squares. Also great for enrichment when entering the genetic/genetic engineering units. My students enjoy reading this article and the questions I wrote as comprehension questions serve as a great way to hold them accountable to complete the reading.

DNA PAPER MODEL to cut and assemble
This model of DNA is more detailed than most paper models designed for students. Here you can see every atom! You can see how and why the bases connect, and you can see the difference between ribose and deoxyribose. Explaining the 5′ and 3′ directions is easy because the carbons are numbered.
