Scene It? Game (Movie Clips) | for End of Year, Time Filler, Warm Up Activity

Created by
Games Galore
I made a game based on Scene It DVD game, in which I show my kids a clip from a movie and then ask them 5 questions about it. This forces students to listen and pay attention to details. It has been the best game so far, I did it for my elementary and middle school students, who aren't easy to please or entertain, but for the most part they love it (even the low-level students will pay attention to the clips so the class is manageable). There are 10 movie clips included in this game including:Gua

Similar to the Mafia game many middle and high school students are familiar with, Witch Hunt is an interactive whole-class role play game designed to accompany reading Arthur Miller's The Crucible. You will need a deck of playing cards--or two depending on the class size--in order to play the game. Can take as much or as little time as you want!I usually play this about mid-way through reading the play, but you could tweak it to make it work for before or after reading. Leadership and Problems in Apollo 13

Apollo 13 is an iconic movie that I always used to introduce problem solving. The best scene for this is when the engineers attempt to fix the aircraft by creating a new filter. Because the film is about all of the problems on the Apollo 13 spacecraft and how the astronauts and engineers attempt to bring it home safely, I often had students analyze the problems and assess how they were remedied. It is also a great movie to have students analyze various leadership styles--autocratic, democratic
