This is a project that I look forward to every year. It's not often students get the opportunity to channel their creativity in math, so I try to fit in any opportunity that I can. The Storybook Project requires students to think outside of the box, and metaphorically solve a multi-step equation. Students are challenged to personify the distributive property, combining like terms, as well as inverse operations and create a story that incorporates these mathematical procedures into its plot.
