LP 15— Exploring Compound Interest, Physics & Christendom w/ Related Concepts

Text-based Lesson Plan— plenty of fuel for instruction and discussion. Compound interest, being so essential to understand the way the global economy functions, is efficiently discussed here. My lesson exposes the systemic flaws of systems that allow compound interest to permeate the system of finance. This is done while simultaneously exploring concepts in physics as well as Christendom.I have pioneered the "Rock Drill" method of instruction. Everything efficiently winds downward to penetrate t

LP 2— Econ: Specialization: Costs/Benefits, Colonization/Puritan Intro

Guided-reading lesson plan, fuel for actual instruction and discussion. I have pioneered the "Rock Drill" method of instruction, starting with broader terms (the broad part of a drill) and progressing toward more specific concepts (the narrow part of a drill). When you start with broad terms, and then "drill" toward the goal, vocabulary and concepts you learn along the way are little bits of treasure. All the necessary concepts to learn the key terms are the progression of the drill. This lesson

LP 5— Exploration of Lgsltve Branch & Government, English, Philosophy, Econ.

Text-based lesson plan— fuel for actual instruction and discussion. I use a technique I call "The Rock Drill"— We 'drill' into place the concept of The Legislative Branch. We explore a democracy versus a republic, and the nuances of the English language involving The Legislative Branch. We also have an interesting component on philosophy, and then we draw Economics and Government together by discussing corporations and lobbyists.I have pioneered the "Rock Drill" method. You "bore in" by beginnin

LP 12— Exploration of the Nature of Capitalism & Western Recreation

Guided-reading lesson plan— plenty of fuel for discussion/instruction. Here we compare the mercantilism of England with a free market and capitalism, and discuss the principles governing these concepts. By the end of the lesson, the student should comprehend that an economic empire is different than an empire defined by land ownership. My lesson plans employ what I call the "Rock Drill" method. Using "vertical" education, comprehension is prized before familiarity with terms. Therefore, the conce

The short essay is written in the first person, with the pencil telling its story directly to the reader. That's ridiculous!" some of your students will likely declare. But the pencil wants to explain it, and does, in an engaging story. Students learn

5 Habits Of Empowering Leaders

Product DescriptionBeing a leader is not what a lot of people think it is. There is a certain romanticism that many people associate with leadership. They think it means being fearless, in-charge, and the ultimate authority within a power structure. Thus, leadership tends to appeal to people who enjoy power. Often that results in leaders who wield said power unwisely, which results in the company – and the leader – crashing and burning.Within this package you will find the following modules:

Find Economics resources | TPT

If you’re an educator or parent looking for printable or digital resources to help your student learn about economics, TPT has got you covered. We’ve got a comprehensive collection of economics and financial literacy resources available, including activities and lessons on trade, goods and services, and the stock market to name just a few. With plenty of TPT high-quality resources at your fingertips, you’ll be able to teach economics to your students in no time at all.

Economics activities to try

Here are a few examples of the different types of activities and lessons you can find on TPT to help teach students about economics:

Simulation Activities

You can introduce students to the world of investing, budgeting, and other economics-related activities through simulations. For example, have students research companies they want to "invest" in to show them how the stock market works. If you want to extend the lesson, you can have them periodically check in on their portfolios throughout the year to see how their investments are performing. Or, you could use a simulation to teach them about causes that led up to certain major historical events, like the stock market crash of 1929.

Budgeting Exercises

Help students understand the importance of managing their own financial resources by challenging them to create a budget. Give them a few hypothetical scenarios involving income, expenses, and financial goals. For example, you could ask them to plan a fictional character's monthly expenses, or have them create a budget to save for buying a house.

Trade Games

Through trading games, students can learn about importing and exporting, along with the impact of external forces and trade agreements. Ask students to work in teams and have them trade goods, record their imports and exports, and respond to charges (like tariffs and embargoes).

Cost-Benefit Analysis

Give students a real-world decision to make (e.g., building a new road, investing in a new technology, or buying property) and have them perform a cost-benefit analysis. To deepen the learning, you can ask them to justify their decisions with evidence.
