Differentiated Student Word Book

Cap's Corner
This is a word book that I have created for my K-5 ELL students, but I have used it in the general classroom setting as well. Anytime a student needs to look up a word or asks you how to spell a word, he or she MUST write it in his/her word book so that he/she won't have to ask again. By the middle of the year, the students have created a great resource for themselves - like a personal dictionary!

I copy and paste from my detailed lesson plan and use as a quick checklist during classes. I write notes on sides and/or on back to cover areas between different classes. (For instance, if a drill occurred during 4th period and we did not complete lesson, I will jot a note on the checklist.) At end of day, as I prepare checklist for next day, I will go over notes and make adjustments as needed.
